In a tragic incident in East Delhi‘s Shakarpur area, a 16-year-old boy was fatally stabbed by three friends on Monday evening, reportedly over a disagreement about celebrating his new smartphone. The confrontation escalated after the boy refused to treat his friends, leading to a violent altercation that ended in his death.

The event occurred around 7:15 PM on September 23 near Ramji Samosa Shop.Police patrolling the area noticed bloodstains on the street and were informed by locals that a boy had been stabbed by a group of teenagers. The injured boy was rushed to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital, but he was declared dead upon arrival.
According to authorities, the victim and a friend were returning home after purchasing a new smartphone when they encountered three other boys. The group asked for a treat, commonly referred to as a “party,” to celebrate the new purchase. However, when the victim refused, an argument broke out, quickly escalating into a physical fight. During the altercation, the boy was stabbed twice in the back with a dagger, which later proved fatal.
The police were officially notified of the incident by LNJP Hospital an hour after the stabbing. Following a swift investigation, authorities managed to apprehend the three suspects, all aged 16, using a combination of local intelligence and CCTV footage from the area. The weapon used in the crime, a dagger, has also been recovered by the police.
