NEW DELHI: Three boys were apprehended for stabbing their friend to death in east Delhi’s Shakarpur after he refused their demand for a party to celebrate his new phone’s purchase. All these boys were students of Class IX.
A police officer said a trivial dispute turned deadly in Shakarpur on Monday. A 16-year-old boy, a resident of the area, was returning home with a friend after purchasing a new mobile phone.He encountered a group of three other friends on the way, who demanded a treat to celebrate the purchase of the new phone.
“After he refused, a heated argument ensued, which soon escalated into a violent confrontation. The boy was stabbed multiple times due to which he sustained critical injuries. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but his life could not be saved,” the officer added.
The murder, which took place in public, triggered panic in the area.
“Multiple teams were formed to nab the accused. A swift operation led to the apprehension of the three boys. The murder weapon, a dagger, was recovered,” the officer stated.
