Apple launched the M3 MacBook Air last year which is already off the online shelf for the company after introducing the M4 Air variant this month.

The popular M3 MacBook Air was introduced just last year
Apple M4 MacBook Air has launched in the market earlier this month and the new model basically sees hardware upgrades and a new colour. But if you have been waiting to bag the older MacBook Air model after the new launch, the company has some bad news. Apple has taken down the M2 and M3 MacBook Air models from its online store, which effectively means the products will not be available via the official company channel.
M2 MacBook Air Goes Off Shelf: Can You Still Buy?
Apple has a general practice of removing the older models when a new one launches and the same has been done for the MacBook Air series. However, taking down both the M2 and M3 Air versions was rather surprising and the Apple online store officially confirmed the new Air lineup for the buyers.
And with this update, people will now want to know if buying the M2 or M3 MacBook Air from other platforms (online or offline) is a sensible move.
To quell your concerns about the outgoing models, we can safely say that buying the M2 or M3 Air models after this update will not have any effect on your support from Apple and its reliability. In fact, you can be rest assured that Apple will offer long macOS support for these models and even upgrade them with the latest AI features that roll out in the next few years.
You can even pick them up for lower prices than what Apple has offered on its website, which makes it a no brainer for anybody looking for a new Mac upgrade.
The base model of the MacBook Air M4 with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage has launched in India for a starting price of Rs 99,900, while the 15-inch variant with the same configuration starts at Rs. 1,24,900 in the market.
The M4 MacBook Air will officially go on sale in India on March 12 at both online and offline stores.
