Moonton Games launched a video to give the community a sneak peek regarding the Mobile Legends Bang Bang 8th anniversary update. Posted on the title’s official X page on September 12, 2024, the video talks about the launch of a new hero and plenty of other exciting surprises for the community. It also states that a 1.9.20 patch update is about to arrive in the game.
Suyou is arriving on September 21, 2024, with the launch of the game’s 34th season. On the other hand, the MLBB 8th anniversary 2024 release date will be September 27, 2024, per the official video.

Mobile Legends Bang Bang 8th anniversary update preview brings Battlefield Draft event
The official video that arrived along with the X post (also available on the official YouTube channel) announced the arrival of MLBB Battlefield Draft event. This is a new event coming with the Mobile Legends Bang Bang 8th anniversary update.
Per the official video, there will be temporary battlefield modifiers, such as Rapid Response, Super Entourage, River Sarge, Eye of Tempest, and more. This will be based on the player’s votes. Each of these modifiers will slightly alter the battlefield. For example, three Super Minions will be summoned by the Lord, when the jungle monster is pushing a lane.

The Battlefield Draft event will only be available to Epic or higher-ranked players. There will be four phases, with new effects for each phase. The developer promised to bring more time-limited effects as well.

Mobile Legends Bang Bang 8th anniversary update will also bring Suyou to the game
Suyou, a new hero, is arriving in MLBB along with the 8th anniversary update. This versatile hero can switch between assassin and fighter roles. Thus, he will be a perfect pick for both EXP Lane and as a Jungler.
Each of Suyou’s skills is essentially two skills, as you can tap and hold his skill buttons to change the mode and cast different types of attacks.

Other changes announced in the Mobile Legends Bang Bang 8th anniversary update video
Moonton Games has also promised to optimize the base logic for a smoother experience. The developer has announced to have added certain additional indicators for the hero skills. This is expected to help the players understand where the skills are going to land.
The visual indicators for certain skills have also been optimized for clearer identification of these skills. The attack recovery animations have been optimized for the Marksman heroes. This will make their basic attacks more fluid.

This video has also claimed to have optimized the underlying logic. This change is expected to make hero movement more fluid, enhancing the gameplay experience for the players.
Players will also experience faster login in the game. As per the official video on X, the developer claims to have fixed the bad login experience, especially for players on less powerful devices. They announced that they have redesigned the login process, and have rewritten the code to make logging into the game faster and reduce the issues many players were facing.

Overall, the Mobile Legends Bang Bang 8th anniversary update preview video talked mostly about some fixes arriving in the upcoming update. However, there is not enough clarity on what changes the current meta will face or which heroes will be getting balanced. All these aspects will be revealed in the upcoming patch update.
