Apple has considered this big change for a few years and reports say 2025 could be the first time when we see an Ultra iPhone from the brand.

Apple to replace the 17 Pro Max moniker with its own Ultra variant as per reports.
Apple is likely to make some big changes for its products, both hardware and software this year. There is a big chance that we might see the first iPhone 17 Air model in 2025 which will be its slimmest ever and now reports hint at more changes taking place.
The iPhone 17 Pro Max moniker could be swapped with an Ultra in the market when it launches in September. We have had quite a few brands entering the Ultra mode in the last few years, which includes Samsung, Vivo and Xiaomi among others. And soon, we could have Apple going Ultra with its high-end product.
iPhone 17 Ultra: What Will It Offer
The details about Apple’s first Ultra iPhone come via a report from South Korea this week, which is said to replace the current iPhone 16 Pro Max variant in the lineup. Apple has used Ultra for its Watch series, but it seems like the right time to extend the moniker to the iPhone family as well.
But what will Apple offer with the rumoured iPhone 17 Ultra to make the change appealing for the buyers? Reports say the company plans to add a small dynamic island notch on the model, and bring the vapour cooling system that was mentioned earlier this month.
Apple is also likely to keep the 12GB RAM with A19 Pro chipset limited to the Ultra and the Pro variant. However, the Ultra moniker also needs major camera upgrades and we are hoping to hear more on the front in the build up to the launch this year.
The iPhone 16E launch this year has more or less confirmed that Apple is happy to hike up the prices of its premium models, and the Ultra variant could be a strong contender for this change.
