For nearly eight decades, Klipsch has set the gold standard in high-performance audio. Now, the legendary brand is pushing its Heritage Series even further with the introduction of the Klipschorn AK7 and La Scala AL6, two iconic loudspeakers reimagined for the modern audiophile.
Featuring cutting-edge engineering, enhanced materials, and a striking new American Auburn finish, these handcrafted masterpieces remain true to their roots—delivering a concert-hall experience in the comfort of home.
The Klipschorn and La Scala are among the most revered loudspeakers in history, originally crafted by founder Paul W. Klipsch to bring live performance sound into people’s homes. Now, Klipsch engineers, led by principal designer Roy “Chief Bonehead” Delgado, Jr., have taken these classic designs to the next level.

“We are always looking to improve performance, even on these iconic designs,” said Delgado. “PWK used to say, ‘You can’t time creativity.’ This project honors his legacy while elevating these speakers for a new generation of listeners.”
Delgado’s journey toward innovation began in 1999 when he started experimenting with active crossovers, a concept often used in cinema sound applications. When Paul W. Klipsch first heard his prototype, he was captivated by its purity and musicality. While PWK passed away before seeing a finalized design, his vision has now been realized in these extraordinary new models.
True to Klipsch’s engineering philosophy, the KlipschornAK7 and La Scala AL6 feature a three-way, horn-loaded design, ensuring unmatched efficiency, clarity, and low distortion. These enhancements allow listeners to hear every subtle detail, from the softest whisper to the thunderous impact of a live performance.

One of the most exciting upgrades is the new 3″ KT-1133-HP midrange compression driver, which delivers even greater efficiency and dynamic range.
Paired with Klipsch’s Tractrix and Mumps technology, the redesigned K-406M midrange horn ensures precise time alignment and a wider, more immersive soundstage.
At the high end, a K-771 compression driver with a patented wide-dispersion extended phase plug optimizes frequency performance, reducing cancellations and delivering breathtaking highs with remarkable detail.

For the first time, the La Scala AL6 introduces a vented, horn-loaded bass system, allowing for deeper, richer low frequencies. Featuring the K-281 12″ woofer, this new system enhances bass response without compromising efficiency, making La Scala’s legendary performance even more powerful.
While both speakers include an improved passive crossover, Klipsch is also unveiling the Heritage Active Crossover, offering even greater precision in time and phase alignment. Developed by Matt Spitznagle, Klipsch’s VP of Technology and Innovation, and tuned by Roy Delgado, this active crossover enhances musicality in a way previously unattainable with passive designs.
“The Heritage Active Crossover unlocks performance enhancements that are simply impossible with passive networks,” Delgado explains. “It provides listeners the flexibility to fine-tune gain settings and optimize their amplifier setup for a truly customized listening experience.”
With an elegant, rack-friendly design, the Heritage Active Crossover is an essential upgrade for audiophiles seeking the purest sound reproduction.
Klipsch understands that performance is only part of the equation—design matters too. To complement the new technical innovations, Klipsch has introduced a stunning American Auburn finish, replacing the long-standing Natural Cherry. Sitting perfectly between Black Ash and American Walnut, this rich, warm wood finish adds a refined touch to any listening space.
Each speaker cabinet is constructed using book-matched veneer, a meticulous process that ensures a seamless, mirrored wood grain pattern across both speakers. This attention to detail, combined with expert craftsmanship, results in a speaker that is as visually stunning as it is sonically impressive.
True to its heritage, Klipsch continues to design, engineer, and assemble these exceptional speakers in Hope, Arkansas—the birthplace of the company’s legendary sound. For nearly 80 years, Klipsch has maintained its dedication to high-efficiency, low-distortion, and wide dynamic range speaker designs, principles that remain at the core of the Klipschorn and La Scala.
The Klipschorn AK7, first introduced in 1946, holds the distinction of being the oldest loudspeaker in continuous production worldwide. Meanwhile, the La Scala AL6, originally designed for public address use in 1963, has evolved into a home audio icon cherished by audiophiles worldwide.
Klipsch’s latest innovations in the Klipschorn AK7 and La Scala AL6 ensure that these legendary speakers continue to set the benchmark for home audio.
With improved horn design, enhanced midrange and high-frequency performance, deeper bass, and the optional Heritage Active Crossover, Klipsch has once again proven why it remains at the forefront of premium loudspeaker technology.
For those who demand nothing but the best in sound quality and craftsmanship, the new Klipschorn and La Scala deliver an unmatched experience—staying true to the legacy of Paul W. Klipsch while embracing the future of high-fidelity audio.
