Samsung introduced a new Log video mode with the Galaxy S25 series – this is a flatter color profile that allows more detail to be preserved and is more flexible when color grading the footage. This feature was added to the Galaxy S24 Ultra with the One UI 7 beta update.
Samsung Log comes to the Galaxy S24 and S24+ with the latest One UI 7 beta update
You may have wondered whether this would be exclusive to the Ultra model, but it isn’t – the latest One UI 7 beta release adds it to the Galaxy S24 and S24+ too. This is only fair, seeing how the Galaxy S25 and S25+ have this feature too, not just the S25 Ultra.
Here is the full changelog for One UI 7.0 (version ZYC6):
You can read up on Samsung Log here including how to turn it on, how to enable exposure monitor (that helps you spot overexposed areas in a scene) and how to grade the footage – this you can do on the phone itself by using the Gallery app.
How to enable and use Samsung Log for videos
One UI 7 beta is available on the Galaxy S23 series too, but without Samsung Log. Whether that gets added later is anyone’s guess.
