On day 1 of the Snapdragon Summit in Maui, Qualcomm took covers off its latest and greatest. Dubbed the Snapdragon 8 Elite, the chipset marks a new era of smartphone processors with high-speed Prime and performance cores, new sliced architecture for Adreno GPU for immersive graphics, powerful AI capabilities with Hexagon NPU, and impressive camera capabilities among other features. The event wasn’t just about Qualcomm; the chipmaker also brought several OEM partners on stage to showcase their upcoming devices powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite. Right from Samsung to Xiaomi, and Honor to ASUS – all the phonemakers have announced that they’ll be launching smartphones powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite soon. Let’s take a quick look at the list of phones confirmed to be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC.
Samsung Galaxy S25 series
Samsung Mobile president TM Roh graced the stage to highlight their long-standing partnership with Qualcomm. While he didn’t mention the name of the device, he highlighted that Samsung would be launching Snapdragon 8 Elite-based phone(s) soon. So it’s safe to assume that the Galaxy S25 series will follow the footsteps of its predecessor to ship with Qualcomm’s all-powerful chip.
Roh also mentioned how Samsung and Qualcomm made the terminology of “AI phone” popular with the Galaxy S24 series, and how the upcoming handset will deliver even better artificial intelligence capabilities with Galaxy AI.
Samsung Galaxy S25 series launch timeline: Based on the Galaxy S24’s release, we can expect Samsung to unveil the Galaxy S25 series in January 2025.
Xiaomi 15 series
If you’re wondering which smartphone will likely be the first to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite, it’d be the Xiaomi Mi 7 series. Xiaomi SVP Adam Zheng mentioned that the upcoming flagships from the brand will launch later this month, i.e. October. He also shared that the handsets will feature HyperTurbo for optimised performance, along with Hyper OS 2.
Xiaomi 15 series launch timeline: The smartphones will launch towards the end of October in China.
ASUS ROG Phone 9 series
Taiwanese brand ASUS has created a niche with its ROG series, offering gaming-focused smartphones. Its partnership with Qualcomm to enable superior performance goes a long back, and the up and coming ROG Phone 9 is no different. Along with gaming capabilities, the brand is also teasing AI functionality with the upcoming devices.
ASUS ROG Phone 9 series launch timeline: the company has already rolled out the press invite, with the launch slated for November 19th.
Honor Magic7 series
The upcoming Honor Magic series will also draw power from the high-end chipset from Qualcomm. The Magic7 will also come with MagicOS 9.0 where its CEO Zhao Ming also highlighted how it’ll offer NPU-enhanced graphics for improved rendering. Ming even demoed YOYO AI assistant which can help with booking tickets, managing notifications and cancelling subscriptions.

iQOO 13
While iQOO wasn’t present on the stage, the brand is often one of the first, to introduce its number series of smartphone with Qualcomm’s top-notch chip. So it’s not a surprise that iQOO has confirmed the launch of the iQOO 13 with the Snapdragon 8 Elite.
iQOO 13 launch timeline: It’ll go official on October 30th in China, and we can expect it to hit the shelves in November in India.
OnePlus 13
OnePlus has also been a close partner for Qualcomm and its upcoming OnePlus 13 will have the Snapdragon 8 Elite ticking inside.
OnePlus 13 launch timeline: Following the footsteps of its predecessor, we can expect the OnePlus 13 to launch in China soon with India launch happening in January next year.
Realme GT7 Pro
Realme’s GT series is known for pushing the boundaries of performance. The upcoming GT 7 Pro is confirmed to sport Snapdragon 8 Elite chip inside. Other specifications rumoured so far include a massive 6,500mAh battery, 120W fast charging support, 50MP primary camera and a 50MP telephoto lens, and an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.

This is by no means a definitive list as we expect more phonemakers to announce their plans for the Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered devices soon. But it goes without saying that 2025 looks exciting for the flagships as they promise a ton of interesting capabilities, all thanks to the Qualcomm chip under the hood.
