Apple today launched the MacBook Air with M4, a day after debuting the iPad Air with M3 and base iPad with A16. The M4 MacBook Air is sequel to the M3 version from last year and packs a bunch of hardware upgrades including more RAM, all at a lower starting price. Available in 13- and 15-inch screen options, the new MacBook Air starts at Rs 99,900 in India. Joining the MacBook Air is the 2025 refresh of the Mac Studio—which comes nearly two years after the last M2 update at WWDC 2023–with a choice of M4 Max and M3 Ultra chips. The new MacBook Studio starts at Rs 2,14,900.
M4 MacBook Air, Mac Studio 2025 full India prices, availability
The 13-inch MacBook Air M4 starts at Rs 99,900. This is for a version with a 10-core CPU, 8-core GPU, 16GB unified memory, and 256GB SSD. The base 15-inch MacBook Air M4 with a 10-core CPU, 10-core GPU, 16GB unified memory, and 256GB SSD is priced at Rs 1,24,900.
The Mac Studio with M4 Max (14-core CPU/32-core GPU/16-core Neural Engine), 36GB of unified memory, and 512GB of SSD price in India is set at Rs 2,14,900. The Mac Studio with M3 Ultra (28-core CPU/60-core GPU/32-core Neural Engine), 96GB of unified memory, and 1TB of SSD price in India is set at Rs 4,29,900.
Both devices are available to pre-order from today, 5th March, with general availability pegged for March 12.
M4 MacBook Air specs, features
The MacBook Air with M4 is twice as fast as the M1 model, Apple says. The Neural Engine is 3x faster. Thanks to the next-generation Apple silicon, the Air now supports up to two 6K external displays with the lid open. The overall design is same but a new “sky blue” joins the midnight, starlight, and silver flavours in this generation.
Both 13- and 15-inch models have a Liquid Retina display with slim bezels and a new 12MP Centre Stage camera housed inside a notch. The screen can peak 500nits. True Tone is available.
You get two Thunderbolt ports, headphone jack, and MagSafe charging along with Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. Battery life expectations are consistent with the previous model, i.e., up to 18 hours.
Elsewhere, the Magic Keyboard, onboard, features a full-height function row with Touch ID and Force Touch trackpad. Rounding off the package is a 4-speaker sound system with support for spatial audio and 3-mic array.
Mac Studio M4 2025 specs, features
The Mac Studio with M4 Max is said to be up to 3.5x faster than Mac Studio with M1 Max. The M3 Ultra version is literally bonkers. Apple says it is 2.6x faster than Mac Studio with M1 Ultra. Featuring the “most CPU cores ever in a Mac”, more GPU cores than any Apple silicon chip, and over 800GB/s of unified memory bandwidth, the Mac Studio with M3 Ultra starts with 96GB of unified memory, which can be configured up to 512GB “the most unified memory ever in a personal computer” and up to 16TB of ultrafast SSD storage.
The 2025 Mac Studio refresh with M3 Ultra ships with two Thunderbolt 5 ports and one SDXC card slot on the front and four Thunderbolt 5 ports, two USB-A ports, one HDMI port, one 10Gb Ethernet port, and 3.5mm headphone jack on the back. The M3 Max keeps everything but swaps the front Thunderbolt 5 with two USB Type-C ports.
