NAPE President Jerry Earle says new mobile trailers at Her Majesty’s Penitentiary are going to have a negative impact on both inmates and frontline staff.
Last week, the province announced a half-million dollar contract to provide Adult Basic Education, literacy programs, and programming to prepare people for the workforce.
He called the trailers a “band aid” solution, citing government failures in building a new facility.
“So these band-aids are unfortunately necessary. But, if the previous government and this government had followed through, we would not be talking about these band-aids.”
