Today via a blog post on Xbox Wire, Xbox and Backbone announced a shiny, OG Xbox themed controller for your phone to play Xbox games on Xbox Cloud Streaming. Say hello to the new Backbone One Xbox Edition Mobile Controller – in shiny, translucent green!

Per the blog post, Backbone One Xbox Edition will let players can enjoy their games with “enhanced D-pad for precise control and magnetic adapters that secure your phone in place, even with your phone case on.“
Players will be able to access the Xbox Dashboard with a dedicated Xbox button, and a gorgeous retro translucent green design. According to the team, the Backbone app “unifies your gaming experience, connecting your favorite titles, streaming services, and social features into one intuitive hub.“
In even better news, if you’re not already an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Subscriber, buyers will get an entire month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate ‘at no cost‘, meaning you’ll unlock literally hundreds of games ready to go at the drop of a hat. Just bear in mind, that free month? It’s for new members only.
When can I get one?
Per the press release, “Backbone One Xbox Edition is available now for $109.99 USD through Backbone in the U.S. and coming to additional markets in April 2024. The device is compatible with iPhone models with USB-C (15 and up) and Android devices running Android 6.0+.”
