Samsung’s Galaxy S series is known for offering the best of everything, but it is the FE series that offers great value for money. While Samsung has yet to officially confirm the Galaxy S24 FE, numerous leaks and rumors over the past few months strongly suggest its existence. From design to specs, here’s everything we know so far about the much anticipated Fan Edition phone.
Design
In terms of design, the Galaxy S24 FE is rumoured to share similarities with its flagship counterpart, the Galaxy S24. This means that the upcoming phone may have curved edges with a flat display and individual camera cutouts on the back.
Previously leaked renders also suggest that the Galaxy S24 FE will look just like the Galaxy S23 FE (review), which in fact looks just like the Galaxy S24. And while Samsung does not usually play around with the FE series phone’s design, it does get creative with colourways. Sometime ago, the rumour mill had it that the upcoming phone will be available in yellow, light green, light blue, grey and black, but like everything else, nothing is official at the moment.
Specs
According to a report by Android Headlines, the Galaxy S24 FE will have a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate that might offer Gorilla Glass Victus protection. And while nothing is known about the chipset, rumour has it that the phone will either pack the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 or go with the in-house developed Exynos 2400 chipset. Recently, the phone was spotted on the US webiste of the popular benchmarking app Geekbench, sporting the Exynos 2400 chipset. This corraborates with previous Geekbench listing from the UK and the global variant, hinting that Samsung might prefer instead the in-house developed Exynos 2400 chipset to bring down the price. Also, it looks like the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE will have a 4,500 mAh battery, more or less the same as its predecessor.
Camera
The back of the phone will most likely house a 50MP primary camera alongside a 12MP ultrawide and an 8MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, while the front camera will be powered by a 10MP sensor.
Availability
The launch date is still unknown, but with a tipster spotting the device in the Indian regulatory body BIS’s database, it is highly likely that Samsung will announce it in the coming weeks.
