Foldable phones are improving every year, and Samsung happens to be at the forefront of the new form factor with its Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip series. Last year’s Galaxy Z Fold 6 (review) was mostly an incremental upgrade, the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 is said to bring several under-the-hood upgrades that might put it ahead of all other book-style foldables on the market. While nothing is official at the moment, from new chipset to camera upgrades, here’s what we know so far about Samsung’s upcoming foldable.
Bigger displays
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is said to feature a much larger 8.2-inch AMOLED screen and a 6.5-inch outer cover display. If true, this will be Samsung’s largest foldable ever and will make the form factor much more useful than before.
Better camera and faster chipset
On the hardware side of things, we expect to see the phone packing Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, which is a huge step from last year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7’s camera capabilities is also reportedly getting a huge upgrade. According to a report by the Dutch news outlet GalaxyClub, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will have a 200MP primary camera, but the telephoto and ultrawide will stay the same as last year.
To give you a quick recap, Samsung has indeed launched a limited edition Galaxy Z Fold 6 in China and South Korea with a 200MP camera.
Design changes
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 will most likely have the same design language but Samsung might reportedly make it thinner.
The South Korean tech giant is also expected to make the inner crease less visible than before, make some improvements to the hinge mechanism and even pack in a larger vapour chamber for cooling.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 expected price and launch date
As is the case with most Snapdragon 8 Elite smartphones, Samsung might be forced to increase the price of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 by a bit. Having said that, the tech giant is expected to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 7 somewhere in the Rs 1,65,000 to Rs 1,80,000 price range.
If things go as planned, Samsung will be launching the Galaxy Z Fold 7 at mid-year Galaxy Unpacked event, which usually takes place in July.
