Qualcomm is all set to announce its next flagship chipset on October 21st. Expected to be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, now a new leaked poster reveals that the chipset will be called Snapdragon 8 Elite. This chipset may feature two performance cores at 4.0GHz and six efficiency cores at 2.8GHz and will be built on TSMC’s 3nm process. The Snapdragon processor will power the next wave of flagships from OnePlus, Xiaomi, Honor, and others. On that note, here’s a look at the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite phones along with their expected launch date, price, and specifications.
OnePlus 13
Expected launch timeframe: October 2024 end (China)
Expected price: Between Rs 70,000 to Rs 80,000 (India)
- Rumour has it that the OnePlus 13 could be one of the first smartphones in the world to debut with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite. We could see it coming to India earlier than other Snapdragon 8 Elite phones.
- The company appears to be building upon the OnePlus 12 for its next flagship. For instance, the OnePlus 13 could get a bigger battery, a brand new micro curved display panel, higher ingress protection and a slight design change.
- The main camera could remain unchanged as the same 50MP LYT808 sensor is likely to be present on the OnePlus 13.

- The Xiaomi 15 series will consist of the standard Xiaomi 15, Xiaomi 15 Pro, and Xiaomi 15 Ultra where the former two may launch as early as October 2024. It is also believed to be the early adopter of the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip.
- While the details regarding the ‘Ultra’ variant are scarce, the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro could share more or less the same specifications such as an LTPO AMOLED display, Leica-tuned 50MP triple rear camera setup and up to 16GB RAM.
- The differences between these variants may lie in the display and battery sizes where the ‘Pro’ model could attain a battery capacity of as high as 6,000mAh with wireless charging support.

- The iQOO 13 could land in India between December 1st to 10th, per a report. However, the handset will most likely make its first-ever debut in China a month earlier.
- The report also reveals that the iQOO 13 could be priced at Rs 55,000 which appears to be a bargain for a Snapdragon 8 Elite phone. For the uninitiated, the iQOO 12 was launched for Rs 52,999 in December 2023 and packed the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
- Apart from the chipset, the iQOO 13 may get upgraded ingress protection to IP68 along with a 2K resolution display up from 1.5K resolution. However, the telephoto lens could be downgraded to 2x optical zoom from 3x.

- As per a certification website, the Magic 7 series could feature 100W charging support while the Magic 7 Pro and Magic 7 RSR Porsche Design may get satellite connectivity support.
- While the other details are rife, the Magic 7 series could debut with Android 15-based MagicOS 9 which will be Honor’s next iteration of custom skin.

Realme GT 7 Pro

- The Realme GT 7 Pro is said to get a 6.82-inch 1.5K LTPO AMOLED display panel developed by BOE, which is also the display supplier for the upcoming OnePlus 13.
- The handset will supposedly be the successor to the Realme GT 5 Pro which never made it out of China. The specifications of Realme GT 7 Pro could include Snapdragon 8 Elite, LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.0 storage, 50MP main camera lens, and a large 6,000mAh battery, per leaks.
