Despite being one of the best graphics cards you can buy, it’s been next to impossible to find AMD’s new RX 9070 XT. It’s sold out at retailers, scalpers are asking for quadruple-digit prices, and it could be months before the card is back in stock. But you might be able to get your hands on one for free, signed by AMD’s CEO Dr. Lisa Su, with a new giveaway.
Five free RX 9070 XTs for five winners
Two of them are even signed
AMD is giving away five RX 9070 XT GPUs, two of which will be signed by Su. The giveaway is being hosted on Gleam, which means you’ll need to visit and interact with various AMD social channels to earn entries. AMD has nine platforms listed, giving you a total of 600 entries if you complete everything. The giveaway is only open to those in the U.S. and Canada, and you must be over 18 to enter.
600 entries may sound like a lot, but it’s not much. At the time of writing, there are 2,672,900 total entries. With some quick napkin math, that means about 4,500 people have entered, assuming every person took all the steps. Or, in more practical terms, you have about a 0.11% chance of winning one of the cards. Those aren’t great odds, but I’ll take them over hoping for an MSRP model to come back in stock.
Entries for the giveaway close on March 13. AMD hasn’t said when it’ll select winners, though the giveaway page warns that it could take up to four weeks for winners to receive their graphics card in the mail.
The frenzy around AMD’s latest GPU isn’t surprising considering the performance we saw in our RX 9070 XT review. The $600 graphics card often competes with Nvidia’s $750 RTX 5070 Ti, and it absolutely clobbers the RTX 5070 at the same price. The main issue with the card, which is true of all GPUs in 2025, is actually buying it.
The RX 9070 XT is sold out everywhere, and if you are able to find a model in stock, you’ll spend well above list price. That’s true of all current-gen GPUs, including disappointing releases like the RTX 5080. That card, which is supposed to run $1,000, is listed for above $1,400 at most retailers — and it’s still out of stock.
AMD fans are feeling the burn of the GPU market, too. Although there are a few (out of stock) cards listed at MSRP, the vast majority of RX 9070 XT models are listed above $700. If you can’t wait for models to come back in stock, you’ll spend close to $1,100 on the secondhand market. Hopefully, the craze around current-gen GPUs will die down soon, but in the meantime, this giveaway is your best bet at getting an RX 9070 XT.
