- 58th Warframe, Koumei will be released in this update
- New mission type called Shrine Defence to be added as well
- Update releases on October 2nd
After a teaser at Gamescom last month, we finally have more news about Warframe’s highly anticipated Koumei & the Five Fates update. Fresh from Tokyo Game Show, Digital Extremes has announced the upcoming patch will introduce Koumei, the dice-maiden, as the 58th Warframe. You can also expect the release of a new mission type and several QoL improvements.
Warframe’s latest character, Koumei, is a powerful fighter who comes with abilities inspired by RNG mechanics. There is an element of unpredictability as her skills revolve around a six-sided dice.
You’ll be able to deploy traps, predict the future for buffs, and summon protective charms that can randomly convert damage into extra health or shields. Her ultimate ability, Bunraku, allows you to take control of enemies and manipulate their status like puppets.
Then there’s the new mission type, Shrine Defence, where a settlement under siege by Infested enemies becomes the focus. You’ll fend off invaders, gather shrine offerings, and face a new mini-boss called the Infested Oni.
Completing this mission also gives you the chance to gather crafting parts for Koumei and unlock her two signature weapons, a gunbrella called Higasa and a polearm named Amanata.
Alongside this, several new improvements will be added to enhance player experience. You will soon find a more refined companion system as well as a rework for Caliban, which will make him more versatile.
