The new season arrives with innovative additions to FIS TV and the FIS mobile app which herald an even greater user experience for our fanbase and communities.
When FIS TV was launched in August 2023, the objective was to become a “one-stop shop” for casual and avid fans to access all FIS World Cup and World Championships updates and stories.
We are now taking this to another level for the upcoming season with FIS providing highlights from ALL FIS World Cups faster and better than ever before.
In our quest to make snow sports accessible to everyone worldwide, FIS will deliver livestreams to dark markets (territories with no broadcast partner, such as Australia, New Zealand, Middle East) for all its World Cups, accompanied by English commentary.
Given the challenges of global time zones making it impossible for all fans to tune in for live action, the full competition will also be available as “video on demand” in respective markets for seven days.
In addition to existing competition previews and highlights, FIS will elevate the user experience with original storytelling content.
This includes FIS100 episodes, athlete profiles and behind-the-scenes story creation offering greater insight which allows the fans to form emotional connections.
These services will also be provided on YouTube, the world’s biggest video platform, with FIS TV available on Apple TV and Android TV.
As we continually develop our mobile app, we have even deeper integration of FIS TV and videos in addition to existing services such as live timing and data services and news.
Fans can also subscribe to push notifications for a range of videos including highlights of their favoured disciplines and athletes, optimised news coverage and more options for a push notification menu.
Future plans for this season include vertical multimedia in-app stories as well as a “where to watch” broadcast guide.
FIS has also launched new channels on TikTok and WhatsApp to best serve our varied communities. And FIS is also happy to invite fans to the 2024-25 editions of the FIS Alpine Predictor Challenge and Podium Picker in our Gaming Zone.
